Where Could A Mum Go To Catch A Break?
Along with the unconditional love that filled my heart came sleepless nights, exhaustion, and that feeling I’m certain every mother knows: mum guilt, for anything I ever thought about doing.
So there went my weekly hair appointments, my fortnightly massages and my monthly facials. Even though I needed them more than ever, I had become last on the list, and my entire universe revolved around these little people I’d created.
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change it for the world. The once high-heeled, hair-and-makeup-done lady is now super excited to leave the house in thongs and a messy mum bun.

When I went back to beauty therapy after maternity leave, I noticed something that had always been there. The mums whose kids came along to appointments. The mums who called to cancel because they had no one to look after the kids. The mums trying to lie down for just 15 minutes while their child cried beside them.
Instead of standing there annoyed, I thought, “I totally get you!” My mum friends and I had googled the lot: kid friendly cafes, restaurants, parks with fences. It was all about the kids.
So one day it clicked. What if there was a place where mums could get some down time, some pampering or just a 10 minute brow wax, that looked after their children too? Somewhere fun for bub, and fun for mum.
