How Laser Hair Removal Works
Our Polylase MX uses advanced Alexandrite (755nm) and Nd:YAG (1064nm) technology to deliver laser hair removal for all skin types, targeting even fine hairs.
The laser targets the melanin in the follicle of a growing hair, travels down to the bulb and disables it. Because hair grows in cycles and not every hair is in its growth stage at once, you’ll need a course of treatments spaced apart.
Laser is a reduction treatment, not an eraser. Grey and very blonde hairs have no pigment for the laser to find, and results vary with your skin, hair colour and hormones. We’ll give you honest advice at your first visit.
Getting The Best Results
Shave Beforehand
Hair needs to be short, about 2 to 3 days’ growth and 3mm at most. There’s no need to grow it out like waxing.
Stay Out Of The Sun
Avoid sun and solariums on the area for 2 to 3 weeks before and 1 to 2 weeks after, and wear SPF 30+.
Be Consistent
Consistency is key. Your therapist will space your sessions to match your hair’s growth cycle.

Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser is a long-term hair reduction treatment rather than a guarantee that every hair is gone. Results vary with your skin, hair colour and hormones, and we usually suggest 2 to 3 maintenance visits a year.
Who can have laser hair removal?
We treat women and men. Anyone under 18 needs a parent present at the first consultation, or signed written consent from a parent. If we’re unsure, we may ask you to see your GP first.
How should I prepare?
Shave or trim the area beforehand, leaving about 2 to 3 days of growth and no more than 3mm. Avoid sun exposure and solariums for 2 to 3 weeks before your treatment.
Can I have laser if I’m on medication?
Some medications can affect laser treatment, including Roaccutane. Please tell your therapist about any medication before you book so we can advise you properly.
Can I have a spray tan after laser?
Yes, 24 hours after your laser treatment, but never before it.
